Tip: The instructions below are provided for Google Authenticator (iOS or Android), however you can use any other solution that supports TOTP, such as:
  • "Authenticator+" (Windows Phone)

  • "Authy" (cross-platform)


Note: Cubits accounts don't support two-factor authentication with text messages (SMS) or calls.



To set up two-factor authentication for your Cubits account:

  1. From your desktop, click your account name in the top right. 

  2. Select Settings from the menu.

  3. Select the Profile tab.

  4. Under Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), click to turn on two-factor authentication.

  5. Write down your Secret Code and keep it in a safe place. You will need it to login if you lose your device.

  6. Install and open the Google Authenticator app on your device (iOS or Android).

  7. Scan the QR code.

  8. Enter the six-digit code generated on your Google Authenticator App.

  9. Click Enable.



To disable two-factor authentication for your Cubits account:

  1. From your desktop, click your account name in the top right. 

  2. Select Settings from the menu.

  3. Select the Profile tab.

  4. Under Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), click to turn off two-factor authentication.

  5. Enter the six-digit code generated on your Google Authenticator app.

  6. Click Disable.



To reset two-factor authentication for your Cubits account:

Solution
I want to move my two-factor authentication code to a new device.
  1. Disable two-factor authentication on cubits.com using your old device.

  2. Set up two-factor authentication on your new device.

I lost my device or don’t have access to the authenticator app.
If you've lost the device with your authenticator app and do have access to the secret seed code:
  1. Open your Google Authenticator App.

  2. Tap the plus symbol to add a new seed.

  3. Select Manual entry from the pop-up menu.

  4. Type in the account name that describes your account (such as "Cubits") and enter your Secret Code into the Key field.



If you've lost the device with your authenticator app and don’t have access to the secret seed code:
  1. Send us a request to disable two-factor authentication using this form.
  2. Submit the email address associated with your Cubits account.
  3. Under Products and Services, select Cubits Wallet & Exchange from the menu.

  4. Under Topic, select Login Issues.

  5. Under Details, select Two-Factor Authentication - authenticator issues.  

  6. Click + Attach a file to submit an ID confirmation photo. This step is necessary to verify your identity as the account owner. Learn more about the ID confirmation photo here.

  7. Click Submit.



Troubleshooting

  • If your code is incorrect, try again. If you’re still having trouble, you might want to verify that the time on your device is correct.

  • If you see a message telling your account has been locked, it means you entered a wrong six-digit code more than 10 times and reached the maximum number of failed attempts. Learn more how to unlock your Cubits account: How do I unlock my account?
